The day after Halloween is a very special day because you can get Halloween candy at a deep discount! On Saturday, stock up on a few bags of candy corn, not to eat but to make a candy corn wreath out of it! A clever touch for any decor, it will proudly welcome your Thanksgiving dinner guests.
But first here are a few important safety notes to keep in mind before assembling the wreath:
- Warn everyone, especially little ones that the wreath is not edible.
- If the temperatures are warm where you live, only hang the wreath indoors or it will melt!
Materials:
- Aluminum foil
- 1 -2 cans white cake frosting
- 2 or 3 bags of candy corn pieces
- wreath form, make sure it is made from styrofoam, approx 12 inch diameter
Steps
- Cover the styrofoam wreath form with aluminum foil.
- Ice the wreath with the can or cans of white cake frosting.
- Apply each candy corn piece by pressing it into the frosting on the wreath. Create your own design. There are many possibilities.
- Let the frosting harden before hanging the wreath, either outdoors or indoors depending on your climate (see safety notes again).
