Public speaking is a very important skill that kids need to enhance when in school. You need to have self-confidence to be an effective public speaker. Enhancing your public speaking skills is never a difficult task.
Treat your listeners as your friends and you will not feel any anxiety and pressure when doing your presentation. However, there are instances where you may encounter hostile audiences. If your audience participates and listens attentively, they would expect you to have a good result in the presentation.
You may encounter different kinds of people. You may find people that are helping you to build confidence in public speaking. You may think of ways to interact with them. You can also make some activities to involve them in any discussion. Always remember that even if they are not participating, you can always have a two-way communication in one way or another.
You have to give your attention to those people who are actively involving themselves in your presentation. You can easily distinguish those persons who are listening and interested. You may look at their facial expressions and body movements such as if they are nodding their heads. This means that they may agree to what you are saying to them.
There are also those audiences that frown and show their disagreements to what you are saying. If there are instances like this, you should be satisfied with the reactions you have created. This means that they are listening to you.
You have to point out the subjects and issues in your presentations. Keep them awake during the course of your speech. There may be times that you are a lousy speaker. Listeners will tend to sleep and be lousy as well. That is one thing that you do not want to experience in your public speaking.
You may ask rhetorical questions to keep them away from going to sleep. You have to include them by directly calling the name of the person when you are about to ask a question. If the situation is still at a lousy pace, you should change your strategy on the way you deliver the topic.
You have to be ready for any circumstance that may occur in public speaking. Eye contact with the listeners is very important in communicating with your audience. You can at least lend 5 to 10 seconds to each person in the conference room.
You may change the volume of your voice and be provocative in the way you speak. A lively speaker can create an active audience. Always remember that public speaking requires a lot of practice. The first time may not bring you a satisfactory outcome. However, that will make you improve as a public speaker.

Chamonix ski resort is a beautiful town with the famous Monte Bianco as well as majestic glaciers. The group love to go skiing or from time to time taking the tourist train. I sometimes fly from North Olmsted and stay at a Chamonix catered chalet for the duration of my vacation.
My family and I previously visited Burasari Patong but it rarely lived up to its its advert: The Burasari Resort Phuket is a Modern Boutique hotel offering an ambience that invites you to completely relax. Burasari is a Thai word meaning a peaceful place filled with delightful fragrances. Everything on the grounds of our resort has been designed with this concept in mind – the wonderful array of tropical plants, the calmness of the reflective pool and the soothing sounds of our many waterfalls. The dcor of our rooms and the landscaping of our grounds is our unique Burasari vision of a contemporary Thai style.
However in Chamonix ski resort the luxury chalet is always fine. In addition eating out in our number one French restaurant, Brooklyns Pizzeria, munching baja fried fish tacos is a pleasure. Chamonix France is a big enough place to make sure that there is plenty for the snowboarder to do. Amongst other things it includes a sports and swimming complex and a strip of bars, Chamonix provides a choice of walking, French charm and sightseeing which few resorts can hope to rival.

How many times have you felt truly defeated by the circumstances in your life? You know, the “I don’t know why I bother to keep trying, I’m going back to bed and staying there” feeling. It happens to everyone – housewives, corporate executives, rock stars, actors, world leaders. Each and every one of us has had a day when we felt that we just weren’t able to cope with our daily lives.
However, some of us have days like this more frequently than others. Some of us even feel that our entire lives are like this. When we begin to feel this way more often than not, there is a problem. What it comes down to is that we feel powerless. That’s where that feeling of defeat and despair comes from. Our subconscious mind is saying, “I just don’t have the power to change things, so I might as well give up.” Powerlessness is not a good feeling, is it?
The truth is, we are never powerless in any situation. It is only our minds that tell us we are. Sure, there will be circumstances that we truly can’t change. Illness, injury, job loss, broken relationships. Those are life lessons that serve to strengthen us in the long run. But many of us believe we are powerless in every situation, and that is simply not true.
When we feel powerless about one situation in our lives, many of us let that feeling creep into other areas too, until suddenly we find ourselves sitting in the middle of chaos and disorder. Our inner chaos reflects in our outer circumstances. We stop taking pride in our appearance and dress more sloppily. Or we let the housework go because we don’t seem to have the energy to keep up with it. We give up searching for a new job because we’re not finding what we’re looking for. Or we slide into poor eating habits and slack on our workout routine. We just don’t feel like putting forth the effort anymore. We have given up hope and accepted our powerlessness.
A great way to shatter that feeling of powerlessness is to get moving. Okay, so maybe we can’t control every little aspect of our lives. We can control most of them. If you are feeling powerless about your job situation, make a conscious decision to take control of the other areas of your life. Stick to your workout routine, clean up your house, wash your car, organize your office, clean and organize your kitchen cabinets. Often, just taking any action will release us from our “deer in the headlights” mindset and help us to solve the very problems that are making us feel so powerless.
Another thing I like to do is something I call, “Massive Foward Action.” Very simply, it means putting forth a massive amount of energy and effort in a specific direction. Let’s use the job example again. If you are unemployed and feeling powerless about it, put forth some massive forward action. Apply for every single job you are even remotely qualified for. Don’t worry about whether you’d like the job or not, or whether you’d like to do this job for the rest of your life. Right now you just need “a” job. Worry about the details later. Call everyone you know and ask if there are open positions where they work, or if they know of any open positions elsewhere. Visit the temporary employment agencies in your area, and place applications with them. Browse the major employment websites on the internet, and apply for any jobs in your area that you would be qualified for. Drive around your area and look for Help Wanted signs. If you see one, stop to inquire about the job. You never know if it’s something you can do.
Spend an entire day doing this, or more. Do it every single day until you get a job. In my own experience, it won’t take long for something positive to happen. Okay, so maybe the job you get won’t be exactly what you were looking for. But at least your financial worries will be over for the moment and you can then begin looking for a job you really want. Or go back to school in the evenings so you can further qualify for a better job later. Or start your own business part-time. The only limits are those you impose upon yourself.
No matter what you are feeling powerless about, it can help to simply create a plan of action. When we feel powerless, we often feel like we are trapped in a box with no way out. There seem to be dead-ends every way we turn. If we can sit down and create a plan with step by step actions we can take right now, guess what happens? We realize that we’re not powerless. The most empowering thing you can do is to get moving. Don’t just sit there and accept what life hands you. Get up, get out and create the life you deserve!

How often have you struggled with yourself over the work that needs to be done? How many times have you put off performing some task or other because it’s too mundane?
Not everything you do in business is going to excite you. There will be many times when you just can’t get yourself sufficiently fired up to make the effort to start, develop or even finish a project.
I get like that quite often. I admit it. I am no different to you. I have left many projects unfinished simply because I am unable to motivate myself to put in one last push. Of course, I know that by bringing the work to fruition I will have significantly enhanced my business. Perhaps even to the extent that I take it to the next level, or that I increase my earning potential.
While I am no different to thousands of other internet marketers or business owners, I do try to keep myself motivated by remembering this little story.
Whenever I read it I always feel uplifted and ready to take on the world! Here it is:
Some time ago I read the story of a man who overcame seemingly unsurmountable obstacles to achieve a lasting ambition…
I do not remember this man’s name, but in a way that does not matter. It is his story that is important.
For many years he edited a magazine that explored and championed Freedom of Speech down through the ages. Towards the end of his life he decided that it was time he wrote a book on the subject.
He had always been inspired by Socrates, so he decided to write the definitive book on the Greek Philosopher. Now, in order to do this, he knew he would have to read EVERYTHING that had been written about the man.
But he did not want to read translations – even those written in Modern Greek. No, he knew that in order to really get a sense of what Socrates was about he would need to read old manuscripts written in Ancient Greek.
He did not know any Ancient Greek. But he set out to learn it.
At this point I should explain that by now our budding biographer was 80 years old and suffered from cataracts over both eyes!
This did not deter him.
For months he sat down in front of a computer screen that displayed giant letters (because he could not read small letters on account of his poor eyesight) and proceeded to learn the obscure and incomprehensible language of Ancient Greece.
Once he’d learned the language, he then read everything on Socrates, translated it into English for his own purposes and turned what he had learned into one of the best books ever written about the philosopher.
Remember this…
* he was in his 80s when he started the project!
* he had cataracts over both eyes!
* he had to learn a new language in order to do his research!
he read every ancient manuscript on the subject! And finally…
He produced a work of fantastically high quality!
In my opinion, this is the ultimate kick-butt motivational lesson!

The day after Halloween is a very special day because you can get Halloween candy at a deep discount! On Saturday, stock up on a few bags of candy corn, not to eat but to make a candy corn wreath out of it! A clever touch for any decor, it will proudly welcome your Thanksgiving dinner guests.
But first here are a few important safety notes to keep in mind before assembling the wreath:
- Warn everyone, especially little ones that the wreath is not edible.
- If the temperatures are warm where you live, only hang the wreath indoors or it will melt!
Materials:
- Aluminum foil
- 1 -2 cans white cake frosting
- 2 or 3 bags of candy corn pieces
- wreath form, make sure it is made from styrofoam, approx 12 inch diameter
Steps
- Cover the styrofoam wreath form with aluminum foil.
- Ice the wreath with the can or cans of white cake frosting.
- Apply each candy corn piece by pressing it into the frosting on the wreath. Create your own design. There are many possibilities.
- Let the frosting harden before hanging the wreath, either outdoors or indoors depending on your climate (see safety notes again).
Stay tuned for more Thanksgiving wreaths and decorations.

Manhattan represents the foundation of New York City and has become synonymous with the city as a whole. The island of Manhattan itself is home to Grand Central Station, as well as a number of artistic and cultural focal points. The Island of Manhattan can be roughly divided into Downtown, Midtown and Uptown areas, each of which include a number of outstanding points of interest.
Positioned to the south of 14th Street, Downtown Manhattan is the home of the Financial District which runs along Wall Street, including the rebuilt World Trade Center and Battery Park, from which you can reach the Statue of Liberty by ferry. Quite a lot of popular cultural areas downtown, including Greenwich Village Tribeca and Soho feature historic architecture, cool food and plenty of shopping. Another admired target downtown is Manhattan, which runs along Canal Street.
Midtown is positioned between 14th Street and Central Park, and includes a well-known arts scene. The center|core|axis|hub|heart} of arts life in the metropolis is the Theater District which encompasses Broadway, Times Square and Hell’s Kitchen, as well as the Air & Space Museum. Midtown is a accessible place for visitors to stay as there are scores of hotels of New York in the section. Other trendy areas comprise Gramercy Flat Iron, a hip residential district, as well as the fashionable Chelsea District.
Large amounts of real estate controlled by Central Park, Upper Manhattan includes the City Zoo, the MET and quite a lot of museums throughout the Upper East and West side. Additionally, the area is the location of Columbia University in Morningside Heights, the historic Harlem community and Washington Heights.
Each of Manhattan’s unique districts hold their own sense of history, as well as popular points of interest from world-class arts to food. A visit to New York is not complete without a thorough tour of Manhattan’s finest places. There is an excellent reason that Manhattan has come to classify the public face of New York city. Manhattan is one of the world’s foremost cultural capitals and continues to set the standard in commercial and cultural trends.

Feeling connected is one of the nicest sensations I’ve experienced. Below are a variety of connections that matter to me listed in random order: *Snuggling with my pet
*Selecting a bouquet from my garden
*Waving to a neighbor
*Welcoming my husband home from work
*Seeing my children complete a successful project
*Marveling at the miracles of Nature
*Collaborating with my coaching colleagues
*Having my articles published
*Remembering my parents when they were at their best
*Being invited
*Volunteering on behalf of children or animals or the environment
One of the most rewarding professionally is the connection to my energy when ‘on purpose’ in support of my goals. Whether it’s writing a book, speaking with the editor, scheduling a speaking engagement, preparing for the radio program or the television show, designing a workshop or meeting for lunch to brainstorm with a business associate, that thrill of discovery as we prepare agendas and materials is rich and rewarding.
What do you think of when you read this? Is your next project ready? Is there a family member with whom you’ve been wanting a deeper connection? Is there a long lost friend you’d like to find?
I once had a client who longed for a pet, yet was living in a place where that wasn’t permitted. She missed the connection, the wagging tail, the loving brown eyes she’d come to rely upon when returning home. Her solution? She began to volunteer at the pet orphanage near her work, so after the office, she’d stop en route home. Her heart was warmed by the connection to the canine members who welcomed her with yips and yaps and happy tails and she provided much needed human connection for them. A fabulous win for all! In realizing her connection to the plight of orphaned animals, she enlisted a team from her office and together they set up a schedule of regular visits, dog walking days and connected in a family way which even included the cats and baby kittens.
Connection as solution is a lovely philosophical concept. To what do you long to connect? This moment is the time to answer that question. Are you willing to take a small action to restore your connection? Yes you can and this moment is the perfect time. You’ll be well rewarded in countless ways and you’ll bask in the heart warming delights that will be the return on your investment.
Since each of us is uniquely designed, our passions and dreams are also unique to us. Knowing that, you can set aside some spa time, or “r n r” time to ponder, dream, remember, design and organize how you want to connect. What effort are you ready to make? One of my first life coaches asked me to write a vision statement of how I wanted things to look “eventually”. It seemed difficult to me, yet I did it. Fast forward to today and I can say that every single thing I wrote on that far away list is currently actually a part of my current life–and much more. It hadn’t occurred to me to include going to world class spa resorts, spending time at the beach, snow shoeing in the mountains and visiting Mexico, yet all those bonuses have been added as I pursue one goal at a time in my eagerness to connect my goals and dreams to my career.
In conclusion, feeling connection is very motivating for me and I recommend it. The good news is that it is within your power to organize it as you wish. Yes you can! Go for it, and email me regarding your connection.

As Prince, or whatever his name is now put it in one of his songs, “When Life’s elevator tries to bring you down go crazy, punch a higher floor!”
Well…, This way to the next level!
Kids for the past couple of weeks I’ve experienced one of those periods I both love and hate at the same time. Hate’em because they’re painful. Love’em because they’re great measuring sticks and opportunities to see how far I’ve come and get a real indication of how far I still have to go. These are great opportunities for gaining even more clarity as well.
Just because I have the choice and can, let’s focus on the measuring stick side of this equation.
See, I’ve come to the conclusion that Life is about levels. From the time we’re born to the time we’re planted we should be about growing and learning and teaching. Continually moving onward and upward from level to level in our development. This is one of those things we need to keep a constant vigil on. If we’re not careful one day you’ll wake up and realize you’re still where you were three, four, five years ago. Same level of thinking. Same level of Life. Not good.
Stop this week. Consider what level you’re on. How long have you been there? How long do you plan on staying? What’s it going to take to get yourself to the next level? Some questions to ponder.
Life is a great teacher. If we’ll open our eyes and get the lessons, Life’ll take us right through the levels. Sometimes Life gets tired of the subtle approach though. Nothing like a good swift kick in the stomach from Life to get your attention and make you realize you’re not performing at the level you could and should be. Life determines that you’re not getting the lessons. Oh you think you’re maxed out and doing all that you possibly can. You think you’re being the best that you can be, then Whamo! Life gets your attention and provides you a clear, undeniable picture. Life says to you “…son, you can be better!”
Got it! And so I shall kids. And so I shall.
Thanks Life.
On the way out I want to switch things up a bit. Growing past the familiar “Life it Up!” epitaph to something a little more forward looking and thinking. Life has spoken, and says I can be better. And so… being the student of Life that I am I enthusiastically and filled with excitement say to you and Life…
Live some. Love some. Learn some. Everyday.
C…

Visualisation plays a very important role with the mind and body relationship. Visualisation and Imagination are quite similiar. Visualisation is the picturing power of your mind. Your mind is like a camera constantly taking pictures of things around you. You are the star of your show. There is no one to give orders to your mind. The images you hold in your mind will determine the kind of life you will lead. When you first start to work with visualisation it is normally the imagination that comes to play. Visualisation takes time and practise to acquire. When working with visualisation it is important that one practises regularly. Try to practise at the same time each day, by doing that it becomes a habit.
Through visualisation you can keep your mind in order. You can control your feelings, emotions and thoughts. Visualisation is a great secret for success. Success means achievement. When you set goals visualise in your screen of your mind that you have already achieved those goals. Visualise in a relaxed state, the Images will be more vivid and you will find your own subconscious mind throwing up images which will appeal to you. Keep your goals constantly in your mind.
When visualising close your eyes. Sit comfortably and relaxed. First relax your whole body from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet. Let all the tension in your muscle, joints and body be released. By doing so your brain can work better. Now bring back to your mind those things which you want to achieve. Visualise yourself doing, enjoying, being, having the thing you want. Feel yourself enjoying it. Hold the picture closely in your mind. Let the things you want to achieve run through your mind like a movie. If you want to have a million dollar you can. All you have to do is to visualise in your screen of your mind. Feel the money in your hand, see it, hold it and enjoy it. Let the goal be in your mind all the time. Feel that you have already earned the million dollar. Once you do that it becomes easier and you can achieve your dreams.
All successful people visualize. Visualization is the key to unlock the door. Your goals, dreams and vision can be achieved through the power of visualization.
