Every one is working for a way to stop them until they are over for the year and everyone forgets? And the commissions formed lose their sense of purpose and the money given is spent. The other issues are that the Plagues come in groupings of years and then nothing for a number of years. Cycles of unrest; like Hurricanes.

We must encourage the further research to study and eventually defeat these locust plagues to insure crop success otherwise with the droughts, wildfires and swarms of locusts we will not be able to feed the African populations. I hope you will consider this in 2006.

Ever since I can remember, I have loved animals. Cats and dogs were my main interest. I used to walk home from school and if a stray cat started to follow me, I would encourage it and then tell my mother that it just happened to be there.!! Of course, then it had to be fed, and found shelter and would become a constant companion.

As`I grew older, I tried to be more sensible,knowing that it cost money to feed animals, and it was not fair to my parents to incur these additional costs. However,I would still sneak a kitten up to my room hoping that it would share my own supper.I remember as a child ,finding a kitten out in the middle of the very busy highway
that ran past my house.With no thought to my safety ,I ran out into the middle of the highway to rescue it.My mother nearly had a heart attack, and I got sent to bed with no supper.

My parents finally bought me a dog, I called him “Teddy”. I loved this dog to distraction and he went everywhere with me. When we would go shopping down our main street,Teddy would always be with me,and I would tell him my secrets and he would cock his head to one side and listen in silence,

I was having a birthday party, and my mother had been baking all day for the event. I was asked to go to the local store to get some
napkins for the party and I called Teddy to go with me.I was so excited, that I must have talked to Teddy all the way and in his usual manner, he wagged his tail,cocked his head to one side and patiently listened.

On our return journey,I met a friend from school and took a few moments to talk with her.While my attention was taken up with our discussion, I did not notice that on the opposite side of this busy road,a large white dog was running up and down barking.


Teddy,who usually stayed close to me ,decided to investigate this stranger and ran towards the dog, by the time I turned to speak to him he had started to move across the road, never stopping to see the delivery truck bearing down on him. He never had a chance. The truck driver tried to avoid him, but it was too late.

I watched in horror ,my feet rooted to the ground, as Teddy, my beloved friend ,was hurled high in the air before landing on the grass verge at the side of the road.He lay very still,covered in blood and my heart seemed to stop beating.It felt like hours had passed, when in fact,the whole tragedy had taken place in a few minutes.I was shaking,my legs like jelly and I could hear someone
screaming,I realized the voice was mine.

I ran across the street to get to him and by this time the truck driver got out of his cab and was about to lift Teddy up when I reached him.

I knew my dog was dead, but I carried him in my arms, talking to him as I always did, but this time,there was no response.No tail wagging,no quizzical look on his face,just a broken little body.
When I arrived home,my mother received a terrible shock, as my
clothes were covered in blood and she thought the worst, that I had been in an accident.


When she realized what had happened, as I tried to tell her through my tears,she wanted to take the dog from me,but I would’nt let him go,so she helped me out to our back yard and
called my father.He gently explained that Teddy would have to be put to rest and that he would bury him under our old apple tree,Teddy’s favorite place for lying in the shade.


Although I was only 10 years old, I knew that death was final,
no more could I play with my beloved friend,talk to him when I was sad or take him to the park to chase the ducks.It was a final goodbye.

We carried on with the party, as other children were coming and would not know of the circumstances.I slipped out from the festivities and visited the newly dug grave with a piece of Teddys favorite cake,which he was never supposed to have, but now
I felt I wanted to share it with him.My eyes filled with tears and I thought my heart would break.As in the face of all loss, I thought I would never get over it.

I have had many many pets in my life since then,but the loss of that dear little mutt, stayed in my heart,forever.

There is often a misconception with high definition televisions that once your get your television you can watch HDTV. However, you will need two other things. The most popular satellite services offer high definition television broadcast. However, at the current time not all television channels offer high definition. Dish Network currently offers over eighty national high definition channels. There are two different types of high definition televisions. An integrated HDTV comes equipped with a digital tuner. If a television station in your area is broadcasting in high definition you can hook an antenna to your integrated HDTV and watch that channel in high definition. The other type is an HTDV ready set. HDTV ready sets do not come equipped with a digital tuner. These types of television often come with a built in NTSC tuner. This makes it possible to still watch analog TV using a HDTV ready set. I wonder when we decided to become a sales person. I know when I was at school all I ever wanted to do was join the Navy and see the world. My best mates wanted to be a truck driver or Fireman, Policeman, Soldier, Banker, Doctor, Pop star, Football player and so the list went on.

1. When cold calling sell yourself and the appointment. Do not even try to sell your product or service. Your purpose for the call is to find out if there is a need for you product or service. If it seems likely there is then make an appointment to introduce your product or service to your prospect.

2. You have two ears and one mouth. Selling is about solving problems. Solving problem is easy if you listen. Rule of thumb: listen at least twice as long as you talk.

3. Your prospect is more interested in themselves and there problems. Most really do not care too much about you and what you have done. Give your prospect time to talk about them and you will have ample opportunity to find out the real problems, needs and wants and what you need to do to make your prospect desire you, your service or product.

4. At your first appointment find out if the prospect can make a buying decision. A simple question like “is there anyone else involved in the decision making process”? Works great If there is, ask if they can be included in this and further meetings. Doing this one thing at every appointment will save you hours of wasted time selling to someone who can’t buy!

5. Dig, dig, dig. Find out what the real needs and wants are. Never ever invent one, you will have a reluctant buyer and a difficult client for the life of the product or service. You will also start to make a name for yourself and company as hard or pressure sellers. This is now treated like a contagious disease in the business world. Once tagged with this label you need to find another career or move on.

6. A positive way to get the most from your prospect is to determine their Dominant Buying Motive (DBM). It is well recognised that people buy on emotion. So why do we as sales people insist on selling them the technical specifications of our products and services? Finding out WHY some one will buy what we have gives us such a powerful advantage over the competition it is almost a crime to use it! So find out what emotion your prospect is going to use? As an example: After asking some great questions such as “what annoys you the most with your current method or service and why?” Listen to the answers carefully; your prospect will give you a lot of personal information using this simple question. The response may be; ” well I hate the way three people have to work on an order. I just want the computer to do it all. If I could do that I would not have the problems with staff being stressed out all the time and not making deadlines” From this the DBM is clearly anger and fear. Anger at the inefficiencies and fear of not having people doing the job properly because they are too stressed. So how does this help you?

Firstly, If your product or service can reduce the number of people working on an order you can reduce the anger, so you could say ” If my product or service were to reduce the number of people working on the orders to two how would that make you feel?” Now you have the prospect ‘feeling’ and it is a positive feeling because you know he wants to reduce it. He will feel good about the solution even though he as of yet does not know what that solution is!

Secondly. Remove the fear. You could say for example “due to the way my product or service operates we are able to automate most of the manual input required. This will reduce the errors and allow your staff to concentrate on the tasks they have do manually, however, they now have more time and are less rushed so the stress levels for the staff are reduced and the jobs go through the system faster with less trouble. How do you feel about that?” Again he will feel good about that and now he is ready for the sale, and because he already wants the outcomes he is pre-inclined to want what you are selling. Easy!!!

7. Now ask for the order. So many times sales people have the order and then talk them selves right out of it. Once you have asked for the order and they say yes. SHUT UP. Stop selling.
